Understanding

the market

When the average US citizen pictures a RV, this is what they picture.

But this is not your

regular RV.

This is the future.

More than an electric vehicle.

During research, I've come to conclusion that Lightship it's more than camping for most of the RV's customers. It's their home, either for a short or long period of time. It's a way of living.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

We've gathered the whole team, from PM, designer and developers, with the engineering team from client's side, to iterate in a workshop. This one hour long session made it clearer to highlight some features and better understand others as well.

Experience in first place.

Starting on the first sketches, the goal was to make it easy for the user to access all main features of the application. That's because the tablet is the main way of interacting with the vehicle.

Smart designing with

Design Tokens

Through demonstrations, I've teamed up with developers to defend the tokenization, which ended up being accepted. This made possible to quickly change the style, which happened. Twice.

All was possible on that time due Tokens Studios (Local Variables was not launched until June 23). Through the plugin, we were able to push changes to dev almost automatically, directly syncing with a GitHub respository.

We've saved time from a bunch of meetings, not having to focus on detailing changes, but rather using that slot to talk about improvements.

The Official

Launch Day

The lightship was on SXSW 23 Edition, to showcase first hand the vehicle. The event was a success and made the product be known to a high-quality audience.

The brand new

Companion App

Providing affordance for users to be free to roam around without losing the control of their temporary home.

Bringing new

Technology

A side project Bruno and a motion designer went after was to propose the use of AR to help users to correctly place their LS in a safe position.

Mapping

Lightship Control

One of the most important screens for the user, Energy allows control of every equipment and outlet available on the vehicle. Where vehicle meets smart homes.

All energy equipment is easily accessible here, allowing users to understand energy levels before hitting the road.

The companion app project started with acessibility goals in mind: making sure to pass all color contrast checks and providing a landscape view of all controls in the app.
